Tamini General Insurance is Uganda's first licensed Islamic insurance (takaful) company, a member of Salaam Group and licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda in November 2025. Officially launched March 2026 by President Museveni. Operates on the takaful mutual-assistance model with risk-sharing, prohibition of riba/gharar/maisir, and surplus shared among participants. Initial products: motor, fire, property; family takaful (life) planned.
